WE UNCOVER LEGACIESEmrich International Probate Research Inc is a US-based company founded in July 2018 and the most recent addition to the internationally active Emrich Group, which has been assisting probate courts and probate administrators in locating unknown heirs and proving their rightful claim to an inheritance since 2003.
You likely did not discover our website by accident; being contacted by a probate research company is not an everyday occurrence. You may have several questions about who we are, what we do, and about your role as a potential heir. We are here to address your most pressing concerns and to inform you about our work and the probate process.
Not everyone leaves behind close family members who are entitled to inherit. Aside from the decedent’s personal relationships, there are several possible reasons for this, for example the estrangement of families through migration, mostly at the beginning of the 20th century, or the current global trend of movement. Whatever your family history may be: you have been sought after, and we were successfully able to locate you.
You are an heir and, in most cases, part of a community of heirs consisting of several people. As such, you are also a participant in the probate procedure. We are here to assist you during this process – from the presentation of your claim in court, up to the distribution of your share of the inheritance. We place significant value on transparency, and pledge to be a reliable partner.
We are delighted to have found you and look forward to guiding you through the probate process.

OUR SERVICES
We will keep you informed every step of the way, from the initial research to the judicial proceedings, and finally the settlement of the estate.
For the probate court to recognize your heirship, it will be necessary for us to fulfill numerous court mandated requirements. These include, but are not limited to: accurately identifying your eligibility to inherit; file notice and objections with the court on your behalf; present an accurate and complete genealogy with accompanying evidence documentation; petition for and represent your interests during kinship hearing(s); adhere to oral testimony and witness directives; effect distribution.
At our sole expense, we have retained kinship attorneys to act on your behalf throughout the judicial proceedings.
COMPENSATION
When we take on an estate matter we work at our own risk, covering all costs that ensue during the process, including attorney fees and legal costs.
Our fee is based on a contingency percentage agreed upon with you and is only due once the inheritance is successfully distributed. We will not ask you for any upfront payments or additional fees.

YOUR QUESTIONS, OUR ANSWERS
HOW DO YOU RECEIVE THE ASSIGNMENT TO LOOK FOR AN HEIR?
When an estate is filed in court with missing or unknown heirs, we are either notified or appointed by the probate court or the administrator of the estate, or we begin research of our own initiative.
HOW DO YOU PROVE HEIRSHIP?
We utilize our global network to obtain court mandated proof records and create extensive genealogical charts. We adhere to jurisdictional legal requirements in our presentation of documentation and judicial appearances.
HOW ARE YOU COMPENSATED?
Fee agreements are made with heirs on a contingent percentage basis and are solely dependent on our ability to achieve distribution on their behalf. We cover all expenses and costs including all legal fees. If we are unable to recover assets, heirs have no financial obligation to us.
WILL YOU SHARE RESEARCH INFORMATION WITH US?
We are happy to provide you with a copy of your family tree when the case concludes. We do not share confidential details, including contact information, without your consent.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
We do everything in our power to secure a timely recovery, but we are ultimately on the court’s timeline. Each estate’s timeline is dependent on the state in which it was filed and the intricacies of your specific genealogy. From the time the initial petition is filed, it can take anywhere from one to three years for distribution.
HOW OFTEN WILL WE HEAR FROM YOU THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS?
We will keep you updated throughout the various stages of the proceeding by mail or email. Of course, you are always free to call in with any questions or concerns.
